ICON CS (lambda-cyhalothrin 10% capsule suspension) is manufactured by Syngenta specifically to WHO specifications for indoor residual spraying. PHS is the only pest control company in Uganda certified and authorized to use ICON CS.

The microencapsulated formulation means the insecticide is released slowly from tiny capsules — providing up to 6 months of residual protection on treated surfaces while minimizing human and environmental exposure.

Mosquito Species We Control

Anopheles

The primary malaria vector in Uganda. Night-biting species that breed in still water. Most critical target for public health mosquito control programs.

Aedes

Transmits dengue fever, yellow fever, and chikungunya. Day-biting species. Breeds in artificial water containers — particularly important near urban areas.

Culex

The common house mosquito — responsible for most indoor biting nuisance. Breeds in stagnant water and can transmit West Nile virus and lymphatic filariasis.

Culiseta

Less common but present in Uganda. Cold-tolerant species that can bite throughout the year. Associated with encephalitis transmission in some regions.
