Privately held, and hands-on.
Normah Agro Farm Ltd is a Ugandan company limited by shares, privately held by its founding directors, operating a mechanised grain farm in Amuru District.
How Normah started
Normah's founding directors moved from corporate careers in international business, insurance and risk management into commercial farming, deciding to invest directly in Ugandan agriculture rather than manage it from a distance.
That decision put roughly USD 500,000 of owner capital into a single site in Amuru District, with no external debt disclosed — mechanised from the outset, rather than scaled up gradually from manual outgrower farming.
The result is a farm run by the people who own it: the same directors and management team who put the capital in are the ones running the fields, the equipment and the warehouse today.
Own-farm grain from Amuru — six crops, two seasons, one traceable origin.
